Karen's Quintessential Quirk presenting Mikelangelo and herself
MUSIC & MAYHEM
With a reputation built locally on her penchant for quirky songs Karen J White enjoys a wide range of music and her latest recording project is producing an album of songs by
the late, great Kirsty MacColl, a British singer-songwriter also known for her quirky take on life. With a loyal following and a string of minor hits, Kirsty is best known
worldwide for her guest appearance on The Pogues’ Christmas classic, Fairytale Of New York.
Mikelangelo is a performer extraordinaire, whether appearing solo, or as the front man of Mikelangelo and the Black Sea Gentleman. Born in Canberra but with Croatian roots, his
Devilish good looks, stage presence and sensual vocals have earned him the nickname the Balkan Elvis. Karen has been a fan of his for nearly 10 years and when he agreed to
record the male vocal part in her production of Fairytale Of New York she was almost delirious with joy!
The recording is to take place at Pegasus Studios in late July; Mikelangelo is arriving a couple of days early so that he and Karen can perform two shows together, in part to
promote Karen’s new album and also to have a whole lot of fun!
The first show is a Gourmet Dinner and Show hosted by Nick's Restaurant Yungaburra showcasing fine dining and great music. The second show is being hosted by DTAG (Douglas
Theatre Arts Group) at The Clink Theatre Port Douglas - one of the world's best theatres.
Music and Mayhem is a rare opportunity to get up close and personal with two outstanding artists full of passion for their art. Pre-bookings are strongly advised as the number
of seats available are limited at each venue.
